I am excited to announce that I will be competing at Daytona
International Speedway this December 28th-30th during WKA’s
(World Karting Association) “Kart Week”, racing in the highly competitive
Ignite Senior class.
This is something that I was grateful to be able to put
together and once again race wheel to wheel with some big-name drivers in both
pro racing and pro karting – including those like Ricky and Jordan Taylor.
Having not raced with drivers of Ricky’s caliber since I clinched
the IMSA Prototype Lites championship back in 2008, it’s a great opportunity to
throw myself back in the deep end see if I still “got it” in the karting world
after so many years off.
In 2015 my family and I threw a “Hail Mary” financially in
an attempt to win the SCCA Spec Miata National Championship at Daytona – and it
turned out to be a slam dunk. 7 years after being crowned the SM champion, and
this time in a kart, I finally get the chance to race at Daytona again.
As a full time Driver Coach and Driver Performance Analyst,
it will be refreshing to get back in the action myself after teaching so many others
the art & science of high performance driving & racing over the years.
Competing under Tim Hannen’s Oakland Valley Race Park is a
special honor as OVRP is where my entire racing career began.
Thanks to Tim, Margay Racing and the WKA for the opportunity
to compete at such a prestigious event.
